De-mildew your tents, pack your duffel bags, and bring the whole
family to Patapsco Valley SP in Elliocot City, MD the weekend of May
22-23, 2004. Plan on friendship, merriment, and, of course,
letterboxing! The park has many campsites, cabins (with
heat/electric), and 17 letterboxes. Rates are $20/camp site per night
and $50/cabin per night. Pet friendly.
We are getting together a preliminary count of interested parties, so
please let us know if you plan on attending so we can block out the
correct number of campsites. We will firm up numbers once the event
gets closer at hand.
We hope to see you there!

P.S. I'm sure there are myriad hotels/motels around for those who
stay at Camp Holiday Inn.

Awesome.
Scarab, Night Owl and Tuxie of the Doubtful Guests will be there.
Campsite.
We have 2 BIG tents and would be happy to share one if someone
needs "a place to stay".
It would be cool to have a cabin that could become the "hospitality
suite" for the group.
What arrangements do we need to make?

None, yet. Next week we will tally preliminary numbers and call the
campground to reserve some sites. As the date draws near, we will
firm up the numbers and confirm with the park.
See you there!

Wordfried here from Shen Valley, Va. This sounds
exciting! Our family loves to camp AND letterbox. We
would tent camp, needing 1 site for 3-4 people.
Thanks for efforts for organizing what sounds like
another exciting event!

Have you joined and posted this gathering to the yahoo group - LBMA -
LetterBoxing Mid-Atlantic? I don't know if all the LBMA folks also
belong to letterbox-usa. If not, I can post a reference to your
message #39593 so they can respond for themselves.
Meanwhile, if I don't get a timeshare hit and head to CT that
weekend, I'll be there as a daytripper. My only camping gear is an
8lb down sleeping bag I use to haul around as a Girl Scout back in
the 60's.
Keep us posted as to which park site/area we will be gathering.

Yep the camping extravaganza is still on for May 22-23 at Patapsco
State Park in central MD - cicadas or no! We went out and bought a
screen room to hang out in, if necessary! I tentatively have six
groups interested (two with furried friends) so we will be camping in
the pet loop in the Hollofield area. If anyone else would like to
join us, please e-mail me off-list at eileenbriley at yahoo dot com.
Plans are to meet early on Sat.morning to do some LBing, as check-in
is at one p.m. After that...who knows!
I hope to see you there!

Hi, I would be unable to make it until very late Saturday night, or
very early Sunday morning. I was wondering if the trip from
Virginia would be worth it since I could only be there one day? I
don't want to get there only to say bye to everyone leaving :) What
are the plans for Sunday, what time will everyone leave? Thanks for
any replies.
